Me: I think I could use a massage.
Chris: I wish I could help you with that, I really do.
Me: No, seriously. Haven’t you heard about the new bill that was passed? You’re now required by law to give me a massage on demand.
Chris: Yeah… unfortunately that doesn’t go into effect until November 29th.
Me: Oh really? Well, that’s tomorrow so I think I need a preview, you know, to test your skills.
Chris: You misunderstand. That’s November 2007. It goes into effect next year.
Me: I see… but if it takes a whole year to implement then you probably need that time to practice, right? I’m giving you a great opportunity to improve PR and restore employee moral…
Chris: Yeah, I don’t think so. That bill’s probably going to be repealed. It’s in review by committee right now. I’ll have to get back to you on that.
Me: [sigh]…nevermind.
