A Homeschooling Meme
Memes - either you love ‘em or you hate ‘em. I usually pass over them unless they’re sent by my friend Edra (hi!) cause she’s special, but I decided to create one just for homeschoolers. It’s a meme for the rest of us! Feel free to put your responses in the comment section or to post them on your own blog. Have fun!
1) What country/region/state do you live in?
2) How long have you been homeschooling? Just getting started, old pro or somewhere in between?
3) Write a little something about your family. Ages? Stages?
4) Share some good homeschooling advice you’ve run across.
5) Tell us something you’re passionate about (besides your family and homeschooling, those are givens!).
6) If you could take the ultimate field trip, where would you go and why?
7) What is a resource you can’t do without?
How do you homeschool? Classical, Charlotte Mason, Waldorf, Unschooling, Eclectic?
9) Share a website or two that you visit often - can be your favorite blogger or a curriculum supplier, just any sites you really like.
10) Tell us about one of your favorite projects/activities/trips you’ve had in the past few months.
11) What is a current/previous homeschooling challenge you’ve faced?
12) Share an accomplishment, something about you or your children. Come on, brag about it!
13) What are you looking forward to over the coming year?
14) Name three things you like doing in the summer with your family.
15) Have a favorite homeschooling quote? Share it here.
Thanks for playing! Please feel free to share this with your friends and fellow bloggers. Memes are meant to travel from one person to another and allow us to get to know a little more about each other.

1) What country/region/state do you live in? Iowa
2) How long have you been homeschooling? Just getting started, old pro or somewhere in between? We have homeschooled going on 3 years.
3) Write a little something about your family. Ages? Stages? Ds12; very creative, wants to be a writer when he grows up. DS9; loves video games, will more than likely design new ones. DD7; 100% girls and all tom boy rolled into 1, wants to be a cowgirl when she grows up.
4) Share some good homeschooling advice you’ve run across. Relax and don’toverwhelm yourself.
5) Tell us something you’re passionate about (besides your family and homeschooling, those are givens!). Writing. I love to write and tell stories about my life. Stories, poem…you name it I love to write it.
6) If you could take the ultimate field trip, where would you go and why? The ultimate field trip? Hmmm…I would love to travel in an RV all around the US with my family. RV Schooling!
7) What is a resource you can’t do without? My extended family (most of them) for their support. As far as books i love CarSchooling and use it frequently. Websites I use Enchantedlearning.com. And the library where most of my great material comes from. (OK so ithat is more than 1)
9) Share a website or two that you visit often - can be your favorite blogger or a curriculum supplier, just any sites you really like. enchantedlearning.com, abcteach.com, homeschooljournal.net
10) Tell us about one of your favorite projects/activities/trips you’ve had in the past few months.
We studied the Olympics. While we studied them the kids learned about an Olympic Stade. We measured out a Stade on our street (it went for 2 1/2 blocks). The kids then took turns running the stade while I timed them. We then had an awards ceremony where I gave them medals and had an awards luncheon in the house. We had a ton of fun that day.
11) What is a current/previous homeschooling challenge you’ve faced? Prooving to MIL that this is a good thing.
12) Share an accomplishment, something about you or your children. Come on, brag about it! My family is my accomplishment.
13) What are you looking forward to over the coming year? I am looking forward to doing more lapbooks this coming year. I would like to see their portfolios actually amount to more than a stack of papers in a box.
14) Name three things you like doing in the summer with your family. Volunteer at the pioneer village. Camp. Eat watermellon, have seed spitting contests and then hose the kids off in the yard while people walk by on their way to the school open house. (One of my fondest memories every year. ;-))
15) Have a favorite homeschooling quote? Share it here. the head of our homeschooling association shared this with me once and if every parent would follow it I am sure their homeschooling experience would be great. “RELAX”. (G.S)

I answered on my blog. This might make a good starter for a carnival entry - or a theme for the next carnival, or a new carnival “homeschool memes” ha ha ha

Agree with Doc…I think it would be a great theme for another carnival. Will have a go at answering the questions when we get back from yet another camping trip which will be next Tues…but won’t be able to provide too many details re kids as I haven’t got their consent, and I try to maintain their anonymity on the internet.

I added one too. Thanks for starting this up. It’s fun to see how alike, and how different, we are.
