What I Should Be Doing
1. Making a list of homeschooling supplies we’ll need for the coming year.
2. Backing up the nine thousand pictures on my hard drive onto a CD. You’d think I’d be on top of this because I had a computer crash 5 years ago and I lost all the pictures of my daughter when she was little.
3. Exercising, by doing anything other than walking over to the fridge hoping to find a pint of mint chocolate chip ice cream.
4. Sorting through kids’ clothes because they’re growing like weeds and lots of stuff is too small now. I could just give it all away because I’m tired of coaxing them to please put on underwear and a t-shirt at least, especially if they’re going stand on the porch and wave at the nice neighbors.
5. Sorting through my own clothes, because I wear the same ten things all the time and yet I have a closet full of perfectly good clothes that could be put to use in someone else’s home, specifically one with a woman half my size.
6. Organizing the playroom and boxing up toys to donate to the children’s shelter.
7. Tackling the growing pile of paperwork, bills, art projects, magazines, and office supplies that have landed on my desk.
8. Repotting the plants that have outgrown their containers. I even have the potting soil and new containers.
9. Cleaning out the fridge. We never eat leftovers. Who have I been kidding?
10. Trying to locate Magic Tree House book #12 for storytime tonight, which is probably somewhere in the stack of books that should be neatly shelved on the bookshelf just two feet away, but are currently defying the laws of gravity in a top-heavy clutter pile.
What I am doing is feeling extremely unmotivated to do much else besides write this list because I’m sweaty, cranky, and tired. What I need is a good massage, a lengthy nap, and a big bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream.
Does Edy’s deliver?
