A Romp In The Woods
Yesterday evening we decided to escape domestic life and go play in the woods. First we stopped at a pond to check out the wildlife, where it began to rain on us. So we hit the road and headed away from the storm. After driving on a forest service road for thirty minutes we reached a trailhead that leads to a natural outcropping of rock which has great views all around.
We sometimes camp a bit further down the mountain, just a short but safe trek away from the exposed peak, because well, let’s face it, Chris is a lightning strike waiting to happen. When we’d had our fill of food and panoramic views we hiked down to a little-known lake tucked back into the mountain side. Chris skipped rocks and tried not to fall in, the kids poked under under rocks, and I took pictures of everything but rocks. Here are some photos from our romp in the woods.

Oh, my, well… I’m blushing. I look at the photos on other blogs and places like Flickr and I think, “Wow! How’d they do that?” Mine seem to pale in comparison but I enjoy it, so thanks very much for the compliments!
