My Favorite Things
- Heavy Spring nighttime rainstorms
- Friends… yes, that’s right, I’m talking about that must-see NBC show. I own all 10 seasons on DVD. Got a problem with that?
- UU Womenspirit at The Mountain, and all my beautiful sisters I am fortunate enough to spend time with there
- Suspense novels, legal thrillers, and action-adventure mysteries
- Saturday evening Jazz on NPR
- Chick flicks like Personal Velocity, Nine Lives, Pieces of April
- Blackbird, the Beatles classic, when sung by Rene Marie. It is absolutely the best version in existence. Close your eyes and let the rhythm and her voice captivate you.
- Twin Fin Merlot, a very drinkable, smooth casual California wine
- Whole Foods Market. Best. Grocery. Store. EVER.
- Racing go-carts with Chris and the kids. Seeing their delighted expressions when I pass that loser. Yeah, right. Who am I kidding?
- Firefox browser by Mozilla. If you’re still using IE you need to discover a better, faster, safer browser. Take back the web.
- Indie flicks, indie flicks, indie flicks. Need I say more?
- The tiki bar at Palm Beaches Shores resort. Clear Florida ocean waters, warm breezes, live music, witty bartenders, friendly patrons… pure bliss
- Hiking with my family, anywhere as long as we’re together
- Organization of Va Homeschoolers and the VA Eclectic Homeschool email list. My lifelines for homeschooling in Virginia.
- Netflix, the online DVD rental site
- The Appalachian Trail, particular the TN, NC, and VA sections (okay, I’m bias) and Highpointing, a lofty goal. One down, 49 to go.
- Die Hard Trilogy. Rule #1: don’t mess with John McClane a.k.a. Bruce Willis
- The word ’snarky’. I dig it. I want to squeeze it and love it, but it’s too snarky for such sloppy displays of affection.
- Miles Davis, especially the Poetics of Sound collection from 1954-1959
- Crisp, cool fall nights with brilliant starry skies
- Extreme weather movies like Twister and The Day After Tomorrow
- Graco baby products. They should have paid me to be a spokesperson.
- Notes from the Trenches and Dooce, the wittiest bloggers to ever tackle motherhood. Guaranteed to make me spit tea and coffee all over the monitor.
- My digital camera, a Sony W5. Get out of my lens frame or get snapped.
- The L Word & Queer As Folk from Showtime on DVD. I am still heartbroken over the end of QAF. The world hasn’t been the same since I my first glimpse of Brian Kinney’s bare behind.
- Poetry slams and open mic nights. Are they still around? I don’t know because I moved over here to the edge of the earth where the natives haven’t quite come to terms with modern civilization yet.
- Winamp music player with a ‘raspberry club’ skin
- Key West. Got married there. Would like to live there. Have my eye on a cute little villa. Please wire one million in cash.

We love Indie flicks, too. Will have to add Nine Lives to our queue, saw the other two you mentioned.
